the wild eye.

the soundtrack for l'occhio selvaggio by gianni marchetti which giallo fever does a pretty great write up on. pretty stellar jams if you dig ferrio, piccioni, umiliani, morricone, & all the greats. my only regret with most of this giallo steez i listen to is most of the films don't make their way stateside, but at least i get to listen to this. i found this at a local store in the used bin, & i'm pretty psyched to share this with y'all, especially flash. this is right up yr alley friend.

  1. Yeah yeah this is deep in my alley. Really really want to see the film after that write-up, too. I quite "like" some of the Mondo films, especially Mondo Magic (the best IMO), which blew my 17-year-old mind so far out that I'm not sure it ever snapped back. So I'd love to see a scathing indictment of the mondo films in the form of a satyrical pseudo-mondo film/mockumentary. I mean, of course, right? Especially since it's got this soundtrack. Great find.

  4. @ flash: glad you dig it man! also, psyched i can share some jams with you after all the great tunes you have posted!! if i find any leads about the film, i'll send it yr way post haste.

@ mike: call me anytime friend! i understand completely, & wish you the best in yr "endeavors". ;) we have had sporadic bursts of sun, but last saturday was super beautiful & we went to snoqualmie falls & nerded out over the great northern & of course we went & had cherry pie at the double rr (twede's in north bend). i haven't had a chance to check out scarecrow yet, but kat & i have definitely been planning on going. the main issue is that a lot of those giallo films don't get made into compatible formats for our dvd players, which is shitty. but i'm psyched to go check out what they have! also, flash has been kind enough to post some of those africanissimo cats records, so we should have a pow wow about those soon buddy.
