dancing alone.

i've been listening to enno velthuys for a decade or so now after discovering him on the silver clouded comp featuring robert turman. a totally under sung dutch artist from the 80's, this is some really special ambient music. if anyone has vol III in this series please drop a link in the comments.

ps not my rip, so thank you to whoever uploaded these to slsk. i've heard rumblings of a reissue series, let's hope it comes to light.

apartment over the peninsula.

sorry for the shitty res on the cover, it's the best i could find with a three second google search. anyway, this came out in the late eighties through innovative communication, & if yr into what private music was doing around this time, then this will be right up yr alley.

andrew weathers // qualchan. split c26 out now!

hey! just wanted to drop a quick line to say my latest tape, a split with the phenomenal andrew weathers, is out through the stellar aescape sounds outta austin, tx. & of course i have to thank evan of flash strap notoriety for the gorgeously stunning artwork! my piece is a b-side to last year's here, tyrant death, exploring the now age while andrew's is some fantastic noisy drone.

summer of qualchan.

sorry i've been away, was busy last month. i had these three tapes come out in august. the top one, here, tyrant death. came out on shadowtrash outta boulder, co & is an exploration of the now age dedicated to my dad who has been battling a mystery illness for the last two & a half years. the middle one smoke break vol II is a screwed mixtape of pop gems that came out on adhesive sounds outta toronto. the third, a split with effed. came out on aescape sounds outta austin, tx & is concerned with the ecological nightmare humanity has wrought for all living species, & the never ending war on terror & the ever looming police state respectively.

i'll get to posting albums again soon. hope y'all have had a great summer. wanna give a shoutout to doc bronze for the top & bottom photos, yr one of the great ones my friend.

new wave.

i was thrifting recently & ran across this tape. i've never heard yanni before, i just always knew as a punk i was supposed to hate him, but this was released on private music (run by peter baumann of tangerine dream) & it was only ten cents, so i figured why not. i am so glad i took a chance, this album is amazing. it's kinda windham hills at points, but is really catchy in a cheesy kinda way. just trust me, you'll really love this album. sorry for the shitty bit rate, but it's free, & really you should just go buy a copy. i am sure there are tons of copies floating around for real cheap on the webs or in yr local goodwill.

qualchan. ~ the spectacle. c42 out today!

the spectacle. was written in late summer/early fall of 2k16 & is influenced by ted kaczynski's anti-tech revolution: why & how & guy debord's the society of the spectacle. it is my sour take on new age & reflects my feelings towards the alienation of humans from each other & from nature & the rising wave of automation pressed on by late stage capitalism & what that means for human society at large.

qualchan ~ zazen c41 now available!!!

i started making these new age tape loops back when gregg was sick, & finished it last summer after the end of a seven year relationship. very personal release, & i can't thank alex & scott enough for wanting to put it out. indebted to bill basinski & bobby turman. intended for meditation.

purchase my tape.

rhapsody in green.

http://www45.zippyshare.com/v/QVAfLwu9/file.html

morning meditation musique... a sort of not really greatest hits from paul horn, one of the godfathers of new age. i've been listening to this while reading bradbury, & it's been really pleasant.

catch the flashback.

http://www47.zippyshare.com/v/98978779/file.html

a masterpiece of morning meditation musique. ray lynch's debut solo should be counted up there with iasos' jeweled space & mike stearn's planetary unfolding. absolutely beautiful & essential.

ps it has come to my attention that windows users have an issue with unzipping my folders because of the period i put at the end of the file names... first i've heard of this in the four years i have been sharing music. does anyone else have this problem?

the sea of sands.

http://www43.zippyshare.com/v/1983486/file.html

bought this a while ago, just now getting around to posting this gem. came out in 85, beautifully beguiling guitar figures with don slepian's (yep that guy!) gorgeously lush ethereal synths on top. morning meditation musique of the highest order.

isle of the orcas.

http://www43.zippyshare.com/v/39895300/file.html

a bit cheesy at times, this album also has some extremely sublime moments. maybe less new age & more neo~classical? i dunno, bought this because the san juan islands are about an hour & a half north of me & they're one of the most beautiful places i have ever seen. anyway, morning meditation musique for yr weekend.
