let the good times roll.

i know i don't post much music like this, & not very many people download my posts that aren't some obscure album from some imaginary country, but fuck that. this album has been out of print for a while now, which is a shame. scrappy punk featuring cindy crabb from doris zine, & the greatest living american author on drums, aaron cometbus. this reminds me a lot of the criminals & aaron's other band from this time period, cleveland bound death sentence, which is an amazing thing. fast short songs with alternating female/male vocals. & how do you go wrong with anything that cometbus has touched? seriously, do yrself a favor & pick up the latest cometbus zine, a bestiary of booksellers. his writing just continues to get better & better. the weather is warming up, & this has been the soundtrack to my days lately. don't sleep on this.

  1. as one of the people who mostly only downloads weirdo obscure stuff from imaginary countries, i gotta say everything you post is appreciated. good music blogs are harder and harder to come by these days (likewise, so is enough free time to appreciate new music!!!!!).

  2. I really dig your blog. I usually stop by to find some new tunes to relax to. I really like that Cybotron from awhile back even if I still prefer the Detroit Cybotron. I'm little surprised to see this one on here, but I suppose that's a testament to your good taste. This has always been my favorite Cometbus band (outside of Crimpshrine) though they're often overlooked in his catalog. They do sound quite a bit like CBDS but tighter and rougher, which I appreciate. Anyway, you do a good job over here. Thanks.

  4. thank you both for the very kind words, they are dearly appreciated. i did a remix of the detroit cybotron for one of the age of the shrug mixes i did a while back. & for cometbus, he deserves to be a household name at this point. i love astrid oto almost as much as i love sweet baby jesus, but really anything he has done has been fucking great, including pinhead gunpowder, although don't care much for billie joe, but whatever. thanks for stopping by & for commenting! :)
