qualchan. ~ one hundred years. c26 out now!

hey there! the first qualchan. tape of the year has come out today through the amazing czaszka records. a rumination on the end times for humanity, the tape is comprised of faded tape loops, processed synthesizers & mangled field recordings. riyl ~ basinski, turman, voigt.

incidental boogie.

i know i know, everyone is already hip to this gem, but i hadn't heard it in years, been real nice to catch up again after all this time. still a really stunning album!

nothing ever happened.

this'll be the last japanese drop for a while.

other lives.

let's keep it pushing with more 80's japanese synthpop.

a long drive home.

gorgeously zonked out mid 80's japanese art pop.

wasted view.

more fire from my man joe hisaishi.

you were there with me.

what, another slice of mid 80s japanese weirdo avant pop? you betcha.

surfing yr life away.

really gorgeous late 70's new age.

mansion of invention.

now for some kraut synth shit from 79. i'm not wild about the vocals, but klaus schulze is laying down some dreamy jams on here.

when you walk into my dreams.

some fun upbeat reggae to combat the cold outside.

even if yr not awake.

let's jump back to japan for some squiggly early 80's post punk.

let it take yr mind.

let's go a little north for hazy afternoon zones.

the pattern emerges.

jumping across the pacific for this brazilian loveliness from 1970.

wade in the water.

this dip in the pool album is stellar. if you dug the jams she did with visible cloaks or that single that music from memory reissued, then you know yr going to be in love at first listen.

hazelwould.

more greatness from my man joe hisaishi. just like scene at the sea, this is from the early 90's & reminds me a lil bit of interior in the best of ways.

seven forty seven.

some warped dub for yr tuesday afternoon.

stone flowers in bloom.

to start out the week before having to go to work i wanna share this really nice 80's german synth album, sounds like something private music woulda put out.

haunted heroes.

doing chores early on a lazy sunday morning while listening to these soft focus yacht jazz jams from the early 80s.

this is not a photograph.

couldn't start out yr saturday morning better than with this funky gem from the early 70's.

smoke break.

fell asleep too early, just woke up & feeling very awake (it's 11:20pm here) so listening to this while smoking & reading hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy.
