one of my all time favorite tapes, i jam this on the reg. ecstatic gems from my man thomas mapfumo who fled zimbabwe in the late 90's due to the political climate. i don't wanna ramble on too much, but such an inspiring story which you can read more about here. i don't even think i can do this one justice, it's just something you have to hear for yrself.

what a lovely album. this was made in the mid nineties for a japanese radio station which beamed through satellites ethereal audio harmony twenty four hours a day. i think y'all will enjoy it.

ps real torn up over johann johannsson, what a beautiful body of work to be left behind. godspeed good sir.

a lovely number from this fella. i know this isn't the deepest gem, but is a nice warm up run to get back into the swing of things around these parts. also, i wanted to post sade's diamond life or gza's liquid swords but i don't think i'm ready for this blog to get shut down just yet. maybe one day.
